Beauty Of Pokhara

0
About Pokhara: Pokhara valley occupies the central location in Nepal and is dominated by the peaks of Annapurna range. Its unique setting may be judged from the fact that the town of Pokhara (91 3 meters), is only fifty kilometers from Annapurna 1 (8,091 meters), clearly seen from the valley. There is a decline of six thousand meters in altitude within a short distance of only twenty-nine kilometers; thus the region provides a dramatic contrast in landscape. The northern horizon is defined by a seventy kilometers long wall of snow and ice with numerous peaks. The prominent peaks from east to west are Annapurna South (7,21 9 meters), Fang (7,647 meters), Annapurna 1 (8,091 meters), Rock Noir (7,454 meters), Glacier Dome (7,193 meters), Annapurna l (7,455 meters), Annapurna Ill (7,555 meters), Machhapuchhre (6,997 meters), Annapurna IV (7,525 meters), Annapurna 11 (7,937 meters) and Lamjung Himal (6,983 meters). In addition to these, Dhaulagiri 1 to the north-west and Manaslu-Himalchuli peaks to the north-east are also visible.

Lakes: Pokhara valley abounds in lakes. Phewa, Rupa and Begnas are the most famous ones while Khaste, Dipang and Mardi are some other smaller lakes situated further away. Sporting activities like canoeing and swimming are conducted on Phewa Lake, together with angling of carp fish. On a small island is a temple dedicated to Varahi, and in contrast to the gaiety of holiday makers, devotees go about their worship undisturbed by the goings-on in the water as well as occasional barbecues on the banks of the lake. Apart from the lakes, the floor of the valley is made up of a layer of gravel, cut into intricate terraces and deep canyons by various tributaries of the Seti river.

People:Similar to the contrast between the level plain and the rugged hills, there are size able variations in the cultural pattern of the area. The tropical plain and low hills are the home of mainly Newars, Brahmans, Chhetris and other Hindu castes, while the temperate highlands are mainly inhabited by tribal Gurungs and Magars. Above the highest villages at 1,900 meters, there are extensive temperate forests with alpine pastures further beyond.

There are also two Tibetan settlements near Pokhara where one can see women weaving exquisite carpets using traditional designs and methods handed down to them for generations. Both these settlements are famous for traditional Tibetan handicrafts and souvenirs.

Places to see: Pokhara is full of interesting places to visit such as the Seti River Gorge which flows some ninety-one meters below ground level, Davis's Fall called Flatie Chhango in Nepaii where the cascading water vanishes underground, and Mahendra Cave where one can see stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Mini Treks: Although a base for all treks to the Annapurna region, several mini treks can also be organized from Pokhara, notably to Sarangkot. The four-hour trek to the top of this hill offers a spectacular birds-eye-view of Phewa Lake, the entire Annapurna range, the river Seti and the village of Hyangza. A one night trek to Naudanda and Ghachowk can also be made. On the way to Naudanda, one passes the village of Hyangza while from Naudanda, the twin peaks of Machhapuchhre, the Fish Tail Mountain can be seen.

Climate: The prevailing climate of Pokhara valley is humid sub- tropical with heavy rains during the summer. Spring, autumn and winter are ideal seasons for visiting and trekking around Pokhara valley.

Pokhara is connected by daily flights with Kathmandu and also by highway from Kathmandu and Siddhartha nagar (Bhairawa). The town has good hotel facilities, and for trekkers, provisions and porters can be easily arranged.

Car insurance

Car Insurance:
Here's some basic advice, plus 22 tips to help you protect yourself and get the best value for the money you spend on automobile coverage.
advertisement

By MSN Money staff
Your car insurance rates are based on a few factors you can't readily change -- your sex, age, marital status and where you live -- and many that you can -- your credit scores, what you drive, how well you drive and how much coverage you buy.
Here's how to get the best deal.
First, let's review the basics. Details vary from state to state.Liability insurance pays for injuries and property damage caused by a crash if an insurance adjuster determines you were at fault. It does not cover your injuries or those of other people on your policy, or damage to your vehicle. State minimum requirements provide inadequate protection. Buy no less than $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident and $50,000 for property damage, or no less than $300,000 if your policy has a single limit. You are personally liable for claims that exceed your coverage, so buy even more if you can, and consider an umbrella policy.
Uninsured/under insured motorist protection covers injuries to the occupants of your car -- and property damage in some states -- if the other driver has no insurance or too little.
Collision insurance pays for damage to your vehicle in an accident. If your car is totaled, you'll get what the insurer considers the per-crash market value of your car, minus your deductible. To get a general idea of what that may be, check the Kelly book private-party price or visit the Web site of the automobile dealers. You can pay extra for replacement-cost coverage for newer cars.

Get a manual on car insurance (Compare what Esurance, Geico, Nationwide, Progressive and State Farm have to offer)
Medical or personal-injury protection provides coverage for you and your passengers, regardless of fault. You may not need this insurance if you have good health insurance.
Twelve states have no-fault insurance, which generally covers the insured person's injuries and property damage no matter who is at fault.
Consider space insurance if you owe more on your car than it's worth.
Reduce your rates The company you select and the coverage you buy can greatly reduce your rates.
Increase your deductibles on comprehensive and collision coverage to an amount you can cover out of pocket. Consider dropping both if you own your vehicle outright and the combined annual cost for that coverage is more than 10% of what you would get if you car were totaled. Ask your insurer about all available special discounts.
If you're switching insurance companies, do it in writing. Your credit scores will suffer if you're canceled for nonpayment.
Control yourself Your behavior on and off the road has a bearing on your rates.
Pay all bills on time. Your premiums are based in part on your credit scores or an insurance risk score based on your credit reports. Trans Union's will provide your auto insurance risk score for $9.95.

Drive defensively, and avoid distractions such as or talking on a cell phone. One speeding ticket may not raise your rates, but an accident you caused probably would -- generally by 40% of the company's base rate.
Don't drink and drive.Don't lend out your car. If your friend wrecks it, your rates will go up. If your uninsured friend wrecks your car, you'll be liable for claims exceeding your policy.
The type of vehicle you drive affects your rates.
The deal on discounts Factors such as years how much you drive, where you live and, sometimes, what would you do for living affect insurance premiums. You can take some steps to get a better rate.
If you get married, you'll get a discount and benefit from combining policies. People 55 and older get a discount for taking a driving class.
Adding your newly licensed teen to your policy will increase your premiums 50% to 200%. One way to reduce costs: Buy a beater and list your child as the driver. Teen drivers can get discounts for drivers ed courses or good grades. You may get a discount if your child attends college away from home.
If you wreck your car If you've been in a collision, tell your insurance company for your own protection, even if injuries are not readily apparent. Informing the company doesn't mean you're filing a claim.
If you disagree with the value assigned to your totaled vehicle, provide quotes from local dealers and proof that your vehicle was well-maintained.Still unsatisfied? Your options are mediation, arbitration and, finally, a lawsuit.
Twenty-eight states require insurance companies to pay the sales tax on a replacement vehicle, based on the settlement value of your totaled car. Request it, as well as registration and title fees, wherever you live.
In 14 states you can get payment for the "diminished value" of your damaged car.
If the driver at fault in a crash is uninsured, consider "stacking" or collecting on all of your policies that have uninsured/under insured motorist coverage to fully cover the damage, unless state law prohibits it.
Body shops may be tempted to cut corners to meet insurance companies' pricing requirements. If you cause an accident, does your policy require you to pay the difference between generic and original-equipment manufacturer parts? If someone else caused the accident, request original-equipment parts for your repairs.

Life Insurance

0

Life insurance or life assurance is a contract between the policy owner and the insurer, where the insurer agrees to pay a sum of money upon the occurrence of the insured individual's or individuals' death or other event, such as terminal illness or critical illness. In return, the policy owner agrees to pay a stipulated amount called a premium at regular intervals or in lump sums. There may be designs in some countries where bills and death expenses plus catering for after funeral expenses should be included in Policy Premium. In the United States, the predominant form simply specifies a lump sum to be paid on the insured's demise.
As with most insurance policies, life insurance is a contract between the insurer and the policy owner whereby a benefit is paid to the designated beneficiaries if an insured event occurs which is covered by the policy.

The value for the policyholder is derived, not from an actual claim event, rather it is the value derived from the 'peace of mind' experienced by the policyholder, due to the negating of adverse financial consequences caused by the death of the Life Assured.
To be a life policy the insured event must be based upon the lives of the people named in the policy.

Insured events that may be covered include:
Serious illness

Life policies are legal contracts and the terms of the contract describe the limitations of the insured events. Specific exclusions are often written into the contract to limit the liability of the insurer; for example claims relating to suicide, fraud, war, riot and civil commotion.
Life-based contracts tend to fall into two major categories:Protection policies - designed to provide a benefit in the event of specified event, typically a lump sum payment. A common form of this design is term insurance.Investment policies - where the main objective is to facilitate the growth of capital by regular or single premiums. Common forms (in the US anyway) are whole life, universal life and variable life policies.

The purpose of the foreign exchange market is to help international trade and investment. A foreign exchange market helps businesses convert one currency to another.
